Fruity sustainable futures  -  @ 08:34:am
When one has something very important to say, it is
best practice to say it with consciousness, integrity,
and respect for the other. Some things are best, talked
about with quiet veneration (regard) not volatile vengeance?.

When it comes to the mysteries of our soul or the desires
in ones heart; there is no need to shout from the valley
to the mountaintop. Remember, ones words always have more
affect when we offer them with clarity kindness and speak
softly from our heart felt needs?

GETUP ON CLIMATE CHANGE FRUIT AND TORCHES
To solve the climate crisis, we will need a movement
unprecedented in Australia's history. We must ALL
mobilize this movement,

GetUp has invented a new device to respond to the
climate crisis. We can hold it in one hand. It
combines solar power, a wind-turbine, and....

A LEMON

It's our climate torch, designed exclusively for GetUp
by the creators of the Sydney Olympic torch, and with
our help we'll take it to a hundred towns, cities and
suburbs across Australia - before arriving in Canberra,
where thousands of GetUp members will present it directly
to Parliament.

Click below to get a first glimpse of what it looks like,
and to nominate your town to host it.

www.climatetorch.com/?dc=439,86439,2

No government will ever soar higher than its citizens
demand - and most will sink as low as we allow. Now
more than ever we must demand this government soars
above political spin and vested interests high enough
to provide the climate leadership we need over these
coming months when Australia's response to climate
change will be locked in.

We have a vision for this torch relay. As it travels
around Australia, GetUp members will collect tens of
thousands of submissions to the government's climate
policy consultation: an unprecedented flood of public
opinion.

Our leaders need to hear from us - from your town, city
and suburb - because industry lobbyists will win this
fight if we don't.

Click on the link above to see the torch and
nominate your community for a leg of the first
ever Climate Torch Relay:

After nominating your area you can volunteer to
run the torch, or help organise the torch leg in
your town. We can only bring the torch to your
town if it will be supported on the ground, so
register your help today!

To a renewable future,

The GetUp! team

Love is the answer not fear  -  @ 09:08:am
Ending Mandatory Detention in Australia-NOW

Opportunities to change flawed history and
revalue our future are the moments we must
embrace and love for many life times to come

Getup is right across this imperative issue
and keen as Pimms to resolve this pressing
issue...

GETUP AND ACT
We must all act with determination and love
to 'end a regrettable chapter of Australian
history that caused unimaginable suffering
to some of the world's most desperate and
downtrodden. The currnet Government has
launched an unexpected but long-awaited
inquiry into immigration detention

The system that placed the next generation of
children in detention, sewn lips, the Cornelia
Rau affair not to mention global condemnation
from the international community."

This current Federal government Inquiry on the
issue signals that they are genuine in their
beliefs about dismantling 'MR HOWARD'S Austrailia
policy on mandatory detention".

A cruel and inhumane detention regime that denied
fundamental human rights. 'For the first time they
are asking us for our views."

"If ever you have despaired at the treatment of
asylum seekers, add your name to GetUp's petition
and speak up for those who can't..WE must all
play a role and end this ongoing national shame:"

www.getup.org.au/
campaign/EndMandatoryDetention&id=365

"So many times the community has rallied against
mandatory detention, finally we have an opportunity
o consign it to the dustbin of history."

Now we must demonstrate to the Government that we
demand a humane system for all our people. For over
a decade, governments have treated asylum seekers
with contempt. They have been denied basic rights
and dignity

Previous government have "opted for the shabby
politics of fear. This is our chance to stand up
and demonstrate that Australians demand decency and
genuine humanity.

GETUP

"Together we will show that harsh treatment of the
vulnerable is unacceptable in our community. This
Inquiry is a moment we have been waiting for to show
that what was thought to be popular in the electorate."

It is imperative that we show the world that our love
much stronger than our fear. Speak up today to right
over a decade of wrongs.

WE must all be part of showing love not fear...So sign
click on the link above and shake the cage of a world
behaving badly

Garnauts's future our future  -  @ 08:54:am
We must replenish the source for our future

BE one of the majority of Australians that see
that we urgently need our country to cut our
greenhouse pollution!

Most Australians don't have time to read Professor Garnaut's
shocking 600-page climate report, so we've created a quick
clip that is succinct. What it means for Australia and what
it means for ALL OF US.

www.getup.org.au/campaign/ClimateActionNow/361

Garnaut is already under fire from a "scare campaign" being
waged by the polluting industries' lobby groups & the Federal
Opposition. That is why it's so important that we pick a good
climate solution from a bad one.

The GetUp community has spoken out strongly on this issue
in the past, because we know that solving climate change is
a top priority for Australia. We marched for it, at the
'Walk Against Warming' rallies.

We voted for it, in last year's election. We all signed
petitions for it over 100,000 calling for strong emission
reduction targets. We take action in our daily lives for
it too consuming less, saving energy, using less water,
and recycling.

If we go silent now, the Opposition and the industries
campaigning for a weak emissions trading scheme that
protects their profits rather than the climate, will win
the debate ahead of the government's upcoming Green Paper
on climate.

After you've seen the clip, make your voice heard too -
and armed with our Information Sheet write a letter to
the editor of your local newspaper.

The Garnaut Review found that Australia will be hit
hard by climate change. If we do nothing, our grandkids
will be living in a very different Australia, one where
agriculture in the Murray Darling Basin has all but ended,
the Great Barrier Reef has been destroyed, snow-based
tourism in Australia is no longer viable, 5.5 million
Australians will be exposed to Dengue fever.

That's why it's important that you understand the climate
solutions being proposed to solve the crisis ahead as the
PM looks to the Australian public in formulating his
response to Garnaut on July 16th.

Be part of maintaining for our future
The GetUp team
